Monty's Blue Plate Diner

Monty's Blue Plate Diner gets what it means to be a "diner." You walk in the door to a shiny tiled floor and a gleaming case of oversize freshly baked pies and immediately see the logo for Just Coffee Coop. You know that no matter what, you are getting an amazing cup of coffee. And, you know, that, in the parlance of restaurants, you save "some room" you will be rewarded with dessert. The food is diner fare, eggs, pancakes, etc., but the interpretation is elite. The eggs were served with a chunky buttermilk biscuit and crispy home fried potatoes. Really excellent. Line can be long to get a table because this place is popular, but it was worth the wait. Will return.

I never understood the fascination with this place. I have been here about a dozen times over 3 decades and always found the food overpriced for the portions, quality, and service. I always got breakfast and was usually dragged there by others that think it is so great. I have also been to events catered by Monty's and it was okay to good but nothing spectacular. I am not saying Monty's is bad, but I can always find equal or better service, quality, and quantity breakfasts at cheaper prices at several other places in town. It's just breakfast anyways, all you are really paying for is convenience at Monty's, I can do just as well at home.

Monty's Blue Plate Diner is amazing! I ordered the Meatloaf Hash, and it is so delicious! The servers are all really friendly and the food is served quickly! I really enjoyed how casual of a place it is to eat because you can just relax and enjoy your meal. I also got a cinnamon sugar doughnut, and that far exceeded my expectations!!
